Buffalo State College hosted its annual Foundation Scholarship Gala on Saturday, April 30th, at the Connecticut Street Armory. The black-tie event raised more than $285,000 making it the most successful fundraiser in Buffalo State’s history.

Because of the gala, 200 deserving students in the All College Honors Program receive scholarships each year. Since this event was established in 1998, more than $1.5 million in scholarship funds have been awarded.

This year’s co-chairs are alumnus Anthony J. Baynes, ’79 of Extra Mile Transportation and the AJ Baynes Group, and Louis P. Ciminelli, chairman and CEO of LPCiminelli Inc. Presenting sponsors are LPCiminelli, M&T Bank, AJ Baynes Group and Niagara’s Finest Inns.

The scholarship gala has become a much-anticipated fundraising event, attracting more than 500 guests for an evening of dining, dancing, and performances. This year’s gala theme, “Because of Buffalo State” reflects Buffalo State’s new brand platform.
