More than 12,000 participants including more than 50 from the AJ Baynes Group (Extra Mile Transportation, AJ Baynes Freight Contractors, and Evolution Logistics) packed Delaware Park for the carnival- like atmosphere of the 28th annual Corporate Challenge on Thursday.

This year’s race also had over 400 corporate participants, as well as the AJ Baynes Group. Many entered the event with very humble goals — like finishing the 3.5 mile race without the help of an ambulance so that they could get back to enjoying hot dogs, burgers and beverages.

Some walked, some ran and others partied in the tent. We were well represented around the entire event. Unfortunately, we didn’t win or place in any of the events, but our pink shirts sure did stand out and the real winners of the day were the Buffalo Olmstead Parks Conservancy and Buffalo Prep. Both are local not-for-profits that benefited greatly from all the proceeds of this year’s event.

The sleeves were rolled up, sweat was on the brow, and cold drinks were in hand. Everyone from our different operating groups had a great time and got to know one another outside of the office.
